Here is the work to be done on the web part of localization for the release of a Serbian version of Firefox 2 : a/ translation of the in-product pages b/ translation of the google snippets for the start page c/ optional but nice to have : Mozilla Europe in Ukrainian d/ optional but nice to have : Mozilla Developper Center in Ukrainian Points a/ and b/ are mostly a one-shot work, points c/ and d/ are a long term commitment to the project that require maintenance. You will find explanations on the wiki : http://wiki.mozilla.org/L10n:Web_parts#How_to_provide_a_translation_for_the_Firefox.2FThunderbird_in-product_pages
Of course, you should read "serbian" and not "ukrainian" above, blame my lazy copy-pasting ;)

Yes, and only a/ and b/ actually block the release of Firefox in Serbian, i.e., bug 394745.

Filip, could you attach the in-product pages here? A zip should be fine. We shouldn't close this bug until the translations are actually up, IMHO, as that's the part that is blocking the release in the end. Thus reopening. The attachement over in the snippets bug should be fine, though.

Please find in-product files in bug 384457 as per http://wiki.mozilla.org/L10n:Web_parts#How_to_provide_a_translation_for_the_Firefox.2FThunderbird_in-product_pages Not attaching here so as not to duplicate files. Direct link is https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=279526 but don't forget the attachment system takes care for obsoleting old translations too.

Make that bug 354498. Interesting, I don't recall getting bugmail for that, though I'm on CC. Sorry for misreading "that bug" last night.
filmil, could you add here how "Serbian" is written in Serbian ? This will be used for the second column in the download table : http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html Thanks
The following row contains the language name. All letters lowercase. српски
The firefox in-product pages are now on svn, we will soon adjust the configuration files to have them visible on both the staging server and the public server so as that you can see the pages in context and get feed back from your community. You put the support redirect to mozilla-europe.org/sr/support/, we currently have no Serbian version of Mozilla Europe, does it mean that you intend to translate the site as well (which would be welcome)? If yes it would be probably good to have one more person for that because the initial translation is a lot of work. For Mozilla Europe and future maintenance of the in-product pages (and maybe other web based projects), you will need SVN access which requires that you provide me your public SSH key. We can talk about it in the #l10n and/or #europe channels on IRC if you can pop in there.
Yes, I would like to have that translated, although I made no plans yet. I will let you know once I determine what to do. I would like to use the same key I use for the Mozilla CVS, if this is OK with you. See bug 370623 for the key.
the key is ok, I am going to prepare the bug to give you SVN access and give you an LDAP account to access the staging servers. For the moment, the support link redirects to English until we have the website translated into Serbian.
Ok, I'll wait for that. Could you also notify me when the snippets are up?
What's the status here, can this bug be closed?
That's a good question I might add. ;) f
the snippets are online on mozilla.org and were sent to google but haven't been picked up yet, I just emailed their webmaster again about it.
(In reply to comment #17) > the snippets are online on mozilla.org and were sent to google but haven't been > picked up yet, I just emailed their webmaster again about it. Hi Pascal. Can you explain what this means with respect to this bug? The bug will be closed when -- what -- happens? 10xf
Once Google will have included the snippets on their servers, they will be displayed on the start page for Serbian users, when this is done, this bug will be closed.
Ping?
we still don't have an answer from google on this, sorry about it.
This bug blocks BUG 394745, which is shipping Firefox in Serbian. I can imagine that doing something as per this bug is a low priority over there at Google. OTOH, I would not want that the Serbian l10n gets delayed because of priority mismatch. Can you advise a workaround that pushes this through? I'd be glad to contact whoever at Google is responsible and ask politely that they do something. That is, if it's OK.
Serbian snippets are now live on google, marking fixed
