* TITLE/SUMMARY No error on a server-side image map w/invalid server link * STEPS TO REPRODUCE 0) Launch Apprunner 1) Using the http://slip/projects/marvin/html/image_ismap.html test case, click on any images in the image map * RESULT - What happened Upon clicking on an image in the image map, the browser doesn't display an error message (that the image map file couldn't be found.) Instead, it displays a new page exclusively consisting of the image that comprises the image map file. *** Note that this test case will probably be fixed by the time someone looks at this bug report, so you may need to break the URL yourself. *** - What was expected An server error message, just like IE or Navigator provides. * REGRESSION - Occurs On Mac OS Apprunner (3.16.99 optimized build) Win32 Apprunner (3.16.99 optimized build [NT 4, Service Pack 3]) Linux Apprunner (3.16.99 optimized build) - Doesn't Occur On Mac OS Internet Explorer 4.5 RTM Win32 Internet Explorer 4.01 RTM Mac OS Netscape Communicator 4.5 RTM * CONFIGURATIONS TESTED - [Mac] Power Mac 8500/120 (233 Mhz 604e), 64 MB RAM (VM on; 1 MB of VM used), 1024x768 (Thousands of Colors), Mac OS 8.5.1 - [Win32] Vectra VL (233 Mhz P2), 96 MB RAM, 800x600 (True Color), NT 4.0 SP3. - [Linux] Vectra VL (266 Mhz P2), 96 MB RAM.

<corrected title.> Actually...umm...I didn't have a valid server-side image map test case handy when I wrote this, and didn't check the scenario of using a valid server-side image map in Seamonkey. It turns out that results noted in this bug report take place with a valid server-side image map, too. [checked Mac OS 3.18.99 build using Apprunner.] Thus, raising severity to major.
