User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en; rv:1.8.1.7pre) Gecko/20070905 Camino/1.6a1pre (like Firefox/2.0.0.7pre) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en; rv:1.8.1.7pre) Gecko/20070905 Camino/1.6a1pre (like Firefox/2.0.0.7pre) Accessing the above URL (German Apple Store, buy an ipod nano) freezes Camino. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start Camino 2. Surf to www.apple.de, go to Store 3. Buy an ipod nano Actual Results: Camino freezes, spinning disk Expected Results: Display ipod nano store page. Works with Safari, obviously. ;) Actually happens on NetBSD/i386 with Bon Echo 2.0.0.6, too, so seems to be a rendering issue.

Please get a sample of this using Activity Monitor and attach the sample here. If you can reproduce this on other Gecko browsers, it's (as you say) very likely *not* a Camino bug. cl
Instructions on taking a sample are here: http://www.caminobrowser.org/documentation/bugzilla/#hang

I get the same hang with Camino 1.5.1 on the iPod nano product page on the US Apple Store site, but I don't get it with an August 31 nightly from the SeaMonkey trunk -- there the page loads fine.
At what point does this start hanging? (Can we get a more detailed list of steps, to make sure we're clicking the same things and know right when this hangs?) I can reproduce this with 90% of the time in1.5.1 and a branch nightly by simply loading the URL in the URL field, but I can't seem to trigger this in Firefox 2.0.0.6 at all so far. Stuart, can you tell from the sample where this goes or who we should cc? (Since this is probably going to Core and several components there yell when a bug is NEW with no minimized testcase, not yet confirming or requesting blocking1.8.1.7)
using a Trunk build: Version 2007090700 (2.0a1pre) I get to this page with no trouble: http://preview.tinyurl.com/38odge http://store.apple.com/Apple/WebObjects/germanstore.woa/6144041/wa/showAddToCart?wosid=qx6LJTLNzCdU2P17cpc1GIl4xtq&addToCartSeries=406362189 which asks what extra's I want with my new Nano.

This is not only German Apple store or Camino problem. It exists also on Firefox 2.0.0.6 on PPC MiniMac (Tiger) and Fx 2.0.0.5 on Windows XP. I have tested it both U.S. and Finnish Apple stores. Interesting is that the problem does not affect for some reason Firefox 2.0.0.6 on Sun Solaris10 (UltraSparc).

Looks like this might be a dupe of bug 190313, then, which is FIXED on trunk (which would explain why it doesn't happen on trunk builds). Someone else who agrees with me should go ahead and mark it as such. :) The Apple Store is a high-profile site that sucks for us to be so broken with. Is there anything to be gained from either trying to implement a branch fix for this or from trying to evangelise Apple? Something obviously changed on their end to make this much worse than it used to be :(

(In reply to comment #5) > At what point does this start hanging? (Can we get a more detailed list of > steps, to make sure we're clicking the same things and know right when this > hangs?) 1) Go to http://www.apple.de (redirects to www.apple.com/de) 2) Click on "Store" button 3) Select "Germany" on the map 4) You arrive at http://store.apple.com/Apple/WebObjects/germanstore/ 5) Click on 'iPod nano'... this is where Camino used to hang with a spinning disc. "Unfortunately", someone at Apple seems to have reached in and fixed the page - I can buy an ipod now.

I concur with Hauke -- the offending U.S. store page no longer causes a hang in Camino 1.5.1.

Often, this is intermittent, so it might still cause an issue for some users. I still see it in both Firefox 2.0.0.6 and a recent Camino branch build, using the steps in comment 10, for example. (Thanks for providing those steps!) -> Core:XML
Component: General → XML
Flags: camino1.5.2?

(In reply to comment #12) > Often, this is intermittent, so it might still cause an issue for some users. It _is_ intermittent. I've just been able to reproduce the hang.

Using Camino 1.6a1 (2007120712), I am unable to reproduce this bug in the U.S. store or by following Hauke's steps from comment 10 (thank goodness for pictures -- I know very little German). Is anyone still seeing this in Apple's online store? Danke. :-D

(In reply to comment #15) > Using Camino 1.6a1 (2007120712), I am unable to reproduce this bug in the U.S. > store [...] Using the above build, I can access the German Apple store and proceed to buy an ipod nano. So, unless somebody else is still able to reproduce the problem (it showed up intermittedly before), I'd say "fixed in 1.6".

I am unable to reproduce the bug in either store (U.S. or German) using Camino 1.6b1 (2008011613). I also tested the other international stores (U.K. and Australia) mentioned in duplicates bug 395168 and bug 397438, respectively, and neither produced a hang in 1.6b1.
