User-Agent: Opera/9.20 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en) Build Identifier: 2.0.0.6 This has been happening for several months. I upgrade to the latest release when it comes out but it's still happening. I have 2 IMAP accounts. My main one has a few filters to copy mew emails to specific folders based on subject (i.e. [spam] goes into Inbox\Spam, and a few others). My last filter is a catch-all that copies all new emails that do not contain the previous filters keywords into the main local Inbox folder. Most mornings when I open Thunderbird I get the error message that states it can't filter the messages because another operation is in progress. Once this happens my Inbox is corrupt. I can see my old emails and possibly 1 or 2 emails copied but not all my new email appear. If I try manually copying emails to the box they wont appear. I then try compacting the folders. Sometimes this fixes the issue for the day (about 25% of the time) but usually my inbox just goes blank. I then have to close thunderbird, go into my profile and delete Inbox.msf, re-open thunderbird and it auto compacts and rebuilds the msf database. Now it works fine all day, even after re-opening thunderbird throughout the day. I'm not 100% sure but this may happen when I read email from this IMAP folder on my home computer (which does not make local copies). I always mark read emails as unread so when I come in on this computer in the morning it sees it as new mail and copies with the filters. If I don't check this account at home I beleive I don't have issues. So perhaps this is an issue with mail that was read and then marked unread? Another note, I do not shut down this PC. I just close Thunderbird when I leave and then lock the PC. This doesn't seem to affect my other IMAP account that I have in this profile. It also doesn't happen to any POP accounts that I use on my home thunderbird installation. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Use Thunderbird throughout the day then go home 2. Come back in and open Thunderbird in the morning and Inbox.msf becomes corrupt 3. Delete Inbox.msf so it is rebuilt Actual Results: Once rebuilt the issue does not happen until the following day. Expected Results: Not corrupted in the first place. Using default thunderbird theme. 2 IMAP folders. The one with the issue has 7 filters total to copy new emails. The other IMAP that has no issues has just 1 filter. Running Windows XP Professional w/SP2 and latest updates. Intel Celeron D 2.3GHz with 1.25 GB of RAM.

It still happens sometimes but not as much since I've done 2 changes: First, I ended up deleting the SPAM filter that would move anything with [SPAM] in the subject. I now let our email provider move spam to the IMAP Junk Mail folder. Second, I also now leave Thunderbird running 24x7. It used to only happen if I had Thunderbird closed at work and I used my IMAP account at home/on my iPhone. The next time I would open it it would get that message. The virus software I run is Norton 8 I beleive but I usually have the active scan disabled or when it's enabled it only scans executable files. It seems it was my rules trying to move a lot of email since TB was closed and somehow it would corrupt. By removing that 1 rule and leaving TB open often has made it better.
