User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.6) Gecko/20070802 SeaMonkey/1.1.4 Build Identifier: version 2.0.0.6 (20070728) When I open a message from a saved search folder, the tags won't display and I cannot select the tags from the menu - the menu just appears to have NO tags at all, I see the '0 Remove all tags' and the 'New Tag' entry. When I open a message from a normal folder, it works as normally. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a tag 2. Create a search folder 3. open a message and click the Tags button Actual Results: The menu doesn't display _any_ tags Expected Results: It should display the set-up tags

Confirmed with Tb 2.0.0.6 and trunk nightly 2007/9/06 build (MS Win-XP SP2). Workaround: Add or change tag at mail display pane(preview pane) of the search folder, instead of at standalone mail display window opened from search folder.

In the error console I get: Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004003 (NS_ERROR_INVALID_POINTER) [nsIMsgDBView.hdrForFirstSelectedMessage]" nsresult: "0x80004003 (NS_ERROR_INVALID_POINTER)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://messenger/content/mailWindowOverlay.js :: InitMessageTags :: line 628" data: no]

This cause of this bug looks identical to that of bug 470474. Like that bug, I can't reproduce this one either with 20081230 trunk on Windows, IMAP/local saved searches and the standalone message window (opened using a double click on the message). Can someone else confirm this?

Still get the same error: Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004003 (NS_ERROR_INVALID_POINTER) [nsIMsgDBView.hdrForFirstSelectedMessage]" nsresult: "0x80004003 (NS_ERROR_INVALID_POINTER)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://messenger/content/mailWindowOverlay.js :: InitMessageTags :: line 559" data: no] Linux/20081230/IMAP saved search

This also affects the delete button, the junk button, and the mark button. This is pretty annoying. :)

I'll try rebuilding and see if this is fixed as Magnus seems to think it might be, and comment again after that.

This still happens for me in a build off the current comm-central code.

Eric, is this a saved search across multiple folders?
Comment 10•15 years ago
|

Ah. Yes, it is. It's a saved search showing me all unread messages on all accounts. Is there a way to get from the entry in the view the message window was opened from to the correct account?

Ah, yes I see it too with cross folder saved searches.
Summary: Tags menu doesn't work when message opened from saved search → Tags menu doesn't work when message opened from cross folder saved search

This is a subset of the issue described in bug 470474, and fixing that fixes this as well.
