Details
Momentarily the "Calendar" Drop Down List lists calendars with read only access and with write access. This makes IMHO not too much sense. Expected Behavior: The Calendar List should only be filled with Calendars with write access. This would prevent users for running into trouble...

Probably I'm still on crack, but the dialog doesn't display read-only calendars...

Works for me too using Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.7pre) Gecko/20070910 Calendar/0.7pre. If I mark a calendar as read-only it's not displayed in the dropdown menu.

It seems to be a WCAP problem with subscribed calendars. I'll change the component to WCAP.
Component: General → Provider: WCAP
QA Contact: general → wcap-provider

Although the WCAP provider currently doesn't evaluate access rights of subscribed calendars (leaves checking to the server), I could easily switch the default for non-owned calendars, making them read-only. But I fear that in some popular delegation scenarios (e.g. secretary scheduling for boss), this might cause frustration since those secretaries always have to switch those subscriptions back to read-write after restart (readOnly isn't made persistent).

Changed non-owned calendars to readOnly unless those are explicitly set to read-write; checked in for wcap on HEAD and MOZILLA_1_8_BRANCH.

Could you attach patches for whatever you check in?

I could, but I don't see any good reason, because there is no reviewer yet for WCAP. Everybody could easily track changes via bonsai (http://bonsai.mozilla.org/cvsview2.cgi?diff_mode=context&whitespace_mode=show&root=/cvsroot&subdir=mozilla/calendar/providers/wcap&command=DIFF_FRAMESET&root=/cvsroot&file=calWcapCalendar.js&rev1=1.35&rev2=1.36 in this case).
