Gran Paradiso spends 30-60 seconds preparing to print out pages which complete in under 1 second on Firefox 2.0.0.6.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open a page
2. select File/Print
3. observe how long Firefox spends "preparing" the printout
Actual Results:  
The "preparing" phase takes up to 60 seconds

Expected Results:  
For the same page, Firefox 2.0.0.6 completes in under 1 second

In a couple of cases I couldn't get a printout at all.

I have a similar problem.
I need to print 3 pages using FF 3.0.5 on Fedora 8.  This takes about 7 minutes per page.  Using Firefox 2.0.0.14 produces the same 3 pages in under a minute.

I noticed the file sizes are different from browser to browser.  FF 3.0.5 creates a print size of 9.5 meg while FF 2.0.0.14 creates a pring file size of about 900K.

Why is that?

What is the URL of the web page you are you printing?

It is an internal php webpage used for faster access to
Printing from Open office for example is not affected.  Earlier versions of firefox work just fine, too

Printing works fine for me. Without a URL or other test case that reproduces the slow printing and/or large spool sizes it is difficult to fix this bug.

Are you able attach (or if too large, upload somewhere) the PostScript output from FF2 and FF3?.
