Build Identifier: version 2.0.0.6 (20070728)

Noticed emails in my main avvount being there and when I go back to the directory, they are gone forever. Dragged and dropped emails to that directory disppear immediately. All parameters for the directory have no effect. There are no filter rules executing.
Attempts to erase the directoy fail--it is a subdirectory of Inbox. In the trash box, the erase directory appears, can be erased from trash, but it comes back next TB opening. The erased diectory in Inbox never goes away. I can change its name but it has no effect.

I can only hope it is not losing more from other directories.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Get emails in sub-Inbox directory. Navigate out of it and at least 1 email is immediately lost.
2.OR, just drag and drop any email to the directory and its gone immediately
3.OR try to erase the directory= impossible, reappears.

Expected Results:
Gone gone gone

Have the email in the directoy when dragged and dropped.

Not lose random emails
Sounds a bit odd, do the folders have any special characters in their names? You can dig around in your profile folder, the mail is in the files with no extension. (And delete the folder that won't go away manually.)

See <http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder>
The foler name in question is "Insight".

Dragging and dropping ANY email to the folder has it immediately disappear, nowhere to be found.

When emails were directed there with a rule, they would stay there until I went in the directory, and then only the first one would disappear. Thought I was crazy for awhile.

The directory, when deleted, appears in the deleted trash file, only to keep the original right where it was.
Are you still having this problem? Have you tried compacting the folder, to see if it's something to do with corruption? Did the folder's file somehow get marked read-only, maybe?

What happens if you copy all the messages into another folder, shut down Thunderbird, delete the folder from the filesystem, reopen Thunderbird, and recreate the folder?
No response in two weeks, so resolving as incomplete. Please reopen if you're still having this problem and can provide more information.
