User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a8pre) Gecko/2007091104 Minefield/3.0a8pre Build Identifier: 8.0.0.b1 I installed 8.0.0b1 onto two machines. On one machine every email I hit enter on or double click on, it goes into Compose. How do I tell it now to? On the other machine, it goes into a View of the message. So I know there is a way of changing it, but I do not see where to change it. Don't see it under Options. I tried looking at the config settings, but do not know what to search under. Thanks. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. load mail window with email. Then hit enter key on the message 2. 3. Expected Results: I expect it to go into view of the message.
Do you have any other extensions installed? One that might be mapping Enter to something else?
No. But I did have Eudora 6.2.X installed, but the other machine had that also.
(In reply to comment #2) > No. But I did have Eudora 6.2.X installed, but the other machine had that also. > Ok. I was able to fix this problem. Eudora 8 and Thunderbird 2006 both had the same issue. The profile it was using was imported from Eudora 6.2.X, which had somehow set the ENTER key to go to compose instead of View message, even though Eudora 6.2.X still had ENTER key going to View at the same time. Go figure. I deleted the Thunderbird profile directory completely and reinstalled both products, did not import any settings and it went away. So the outcome is that there is a Eudora 6.2.X setting that changes the way the ENTER key behaves. However, in both Thunderbird 2006 and Eudora 8, I was unable to find the setting to change it. Hense deleting the profile and recreating it fixed it. This may be something good to fix. I'd add this setting somewhere in the Eudora 8, so we can swap it on or off.
