User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.0.3705; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; Media Center PC 4.0; InfoPath.1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727) Build Identifier: Thunderbird Setup 2.0.0.6 Application error comes up when I try to start Thunderbird. The exact error message says: The instruction at "0x7c9106c3" referenced memory at "0x00a39a26". The memory could not be "written". Please let me know when you fix this bug. It has never worked on my PC yet. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start, click on Mozilla Thunderbird 2. 3. Start up Mozilla without the error message preventing me from starting up.
Still a problem after a reinstall? If it is, we need the talkback crash id, so choose custom install and opt in for talkback. <http://kb.mozillazine.org/Talkback>
please create, and use, a new profile - Start > programs > (Mozilla] Thunderbird > profile manager. If you do see it, use http://www.mozilla.org/support/thunderbird/profile#new what happens when you use a new profile?

Still does the SAME thing, no difference in error after uninstalling and reinstalling, then going through the above steps.

seems unlikely but try disabling talkback (bug 357770 trunk issue). did you ask in support forums.mozillazine.org
(In reply to comment #5) > seems unlikely but try disabling talkback (bug 357770 trunk issue). move extensions\talkback@mozilla.org from program directory to somewhere out of the extensions directory also support newsgroups listed @ http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/support/
Anna what are your results?

talkback is enabled and it does not form any issue every time it crashes. Uninstalled and reinstalled with newer version and still have this issue with that error message. Mozilla thunderbird is in the background but once I press OK to error message, the application is closes.

make sure you have a backup of your mail (or point to a message account/store that you don't care about) and then please try an early release http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/early_releases/
the odds are stacked against this being thunderbird. far more likely is one of: virus, antivirus software, hardware (memory), drivers, firewall SW (like zonealarm). Suggest you seek assistance in a hardware support forum/newsgroup.
