When I try to enter in my google account (gmail) firefox seems to stay in stand by and it's very very slow. Is not possible to enter in my account.

Franco, did Firefox 3 RC1 work better?  If not, please try Safe Mode:
Start menu->All Programs->Mozilla Firefox 3->Mozilla Firefox(Safe Mode)

Hi, yes seems that Firefox 3 works better. 
There is a problem under Linux 64 bits (opensuse) with the web pages that need the flash player
