To clarify: Images are now using the old "Tiki" way, which is to upload them into a directory. This has several issues:

* If you use the same image name twice, you might either replace the image, or not be able to replace the image

* There is no way to browse the images to see what is stored in the system

* There is currently lack of integration between the image gallery (Flickr like thing) in Tiki and the wiki, so it is a two step process if you want to use the wiki with image gallery images. You need to upload to the image gallery, and then use the link inthe wiki page. This is not intuitive. It should be one step like currently, and even provide a link to search the image gallery or something


This bug is about the ability to directly upload the image to a gallery, and categorize it, and insert corresponding link in wiki.

A separate feature would be the ability to "search for existing image", which pops up new window with search results.

There is also a need for a script to move existing images that are currently in the directory, and to update the links.

We're now using a method in which images are per-article. Wontfixing this.

This is part of Tiki3, and better in Tiki4. It is using the File Gallery instead of Image gallery though.
