User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.7) Gecko/20070914 Firefox/2.0.0.7 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.7) Gecko/20070914 Firefox/2.0.0.7 I'd like to suggest a "bookmark to file" option. When pressed, it would create a URL file. The link would be the address of current page (e.g. "https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=Firefox&format=guided") and the file name would be "PAGETITLE.url", but user could change the name to his/her text from the "Bookmark To File" prompt (like when bookmarking - the default Bookmark's name is the Page's title). The user selects directory and - VOILA: he/she has a link to his/her page in his/her selected directory// Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Click "bookmarks" -> "Bookmark to File" OR Righ-click current tab -> "Bookmark to File" OR press CTRL+something 2. See the prompt w/ Filename (default - page title) (Like in "Bookmark This Page") 3. Select directory Actual Results: I have a link to my page in my selected directory Expected Results: I have a link to my page in my selected directory
sounds as something could be done by an add-on, and you can drag bookmarks to any system folder, ut that can't replace internal bookmarking since would make perf awful and disable most of the features that rely on being able to access/search bookmarks.
