Fair enough. Silver, can we get away with cvs-adding the chatzilla.ico to favicon.ico in the mozilla-www repo as a solution here? Or should we cut up that file to rip out the high-res versions, and/or use a png with <link> elems all over the place?

The full icon file is 49KB, and Firefox 2 and 3 won't store icons larger than 16 and 32KB respectively. The 16x16 image on its own is 1.4KB, which seems reasonable. As for other formats, a PNG renamed to favicon.ico would work in Mozilla, but I think IE only supports the ICO format. Or we could always make one of those annoying animated icons. ;)
