Steps to Reproduce:

- Make a new profile with a branch build
- Close Firefox
- Run it with latest trunk build
- Bookmarks -> Organize -> Import and Backup - > Restore 2007-10-11 -> Confirm
- No Places folder on my toolbar
- Restart Minefield
- Still no Places folder on my toolbar
adding dependency, even if i think this could work now...
Depends on: 406833
updated the summary of this bug to match current implementation and terminology, given that there's no Places folder anymore.

however, i'm not clear on what you restored, and what you expected to happen.

if you restore a backup that has no smart bookmarks, we do not automatically re-create them, and don't think we should. i think the solution in that scenario is in the "provide UI for re-creating the default smart bookmarks" bug (for which i cannot find the bug #).
Summary: No Places folder on my toolbar → default smart bookmarks not recreated after a restore
somewhat related is bug 406833.

Ria, could you take a look with latest nightly please?
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1b2pre) Gecko/20081114 Minefield/3.1b2pre

Is WFM, indeed.

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h".

In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows:
Tools | Message Filters
Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New"
Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h
Change the action to "Delete Message".
Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top.
Click OK.

Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter.
