If you have a sender address like this:
Henrik "The man" Gemal

and send a mail to yourself then the sender column in the 3pane is empty.
The From field in the mail itself shows:
Henrik \\The man\\ Gemal

Expected:
Both the Sender colum and the From field should show:
Henrik "The man" Gemal
cc'ing rhp. Rich do you have any idea where this would be happening so I can 
reassign it?
Probably JF needs to look at it...sounds like an issue of the FE possibly not 
escaping the quotes.

ok, now I'm going to take this back. It could very well be in the mail receiving 
code since the message pane is sort of showing it. Moving to M18 and nominating 
for beta3.

Go into the mozilla Mail Account info and change you name to:

and send a mail to yourself.

From is being shown as:
Test test Test
and not
Test "test" Test

Yes, that's a great problem for me when I use Netscape and Mozilla ;-) -- they
substitute \" for \\.

First, mail client changes " occurences for \" (it does it right because the
quote symbol is an escape character). Then somehow it "re-escapes" the body of
the message, changing \ for \\ and ignoring the subsequent quote symbol. This
problem is inherited from Communicator 4.x releases.
I do not get this behaviour. I get the behaviour of bug 117975.

Should this bug be closed as WFM
This must be a dup of #134277.
Agreed on dupe.  Fixed for a long time now.
