399807 - Ts jump on bl-bldxp01 during 2007-10-14

A bunch of stuff happened with bl-bldxp01 recently:

20071003: The TightVNC server refused to restart, and was replaced with RealVNC, bug 398423. 
  ==> All the test results re-baselined at higher values

20071012: Perf tests stopped Was restarted by unknown method, bug 399679
  ==> Perf results jumped back to the old values

20071013 - 2030: Perf tests stopped

20071014 - 0700: Connected with VNC, used ^C to stop tinderbox, then start it up again. 
  ==> Perf results are back to high values, except Ts which jumped even higher (~ 3150ms)

20071014 - 0900: Ts still high after three runs, rebooted the machine
  ==> Perf results unchanged

20071014 - 1100: Shut tbox down, clean out the dir where builds are extracted, and make sure that TightVNC server not started on boot, reboot
  ==> Perf results unchanged

Was the shell used to start the tinderbox minimized or left open?

It was left open, which is normal for this box.

All the tests except Ts seem to be back in the range they were holding between 2007/10/03 and 2007/10/13.

Looks like when the RealVNC server was downloaded, the package was saved directly to the desktop. Not sure whether having an extra icon on the screen would cause a Ts jump, but stranger things have happened. I've moved the package into My Documents/ and restarted the tinderbox.

Oh, and ignore the very low Ts numbers from this morning. That was me mucking about with RDP.

I've rebooted the box and restarted tinderbox now via VNC. We'll see where our numbers are tomorrow morning.

We're back down to just above pre-October numbers.
