40035 - "Check for new messages every" doesn't seem to work for news servers

I've added a news server account and sat "Check for new messages every" to 1 
minute but mozilla seems to ignore this, since no checking is done.
I've posted a messages but mozilla never checked for new messages.
Either this setting should be removed or implemented...:)

Build 2000052020 on Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional

Seems to me this is an EMAIL function only and not for news. Probably you're 
speaking of http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32449

news biff was working at one point, but broke at some point.
