It doesn't work neither from File menu, but just clicking on 1st button (close, X, on the left) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open a find window (AppleKey + F key) 2. Close it wit AppleKey + W key 3. Close it selecting the Close option from File menu 4. Both don't work Expected Results: Is it not possible to integrate Find search in the bottom of page, as in Firefox?

(In reply to comment #4) > How do you know the answer if you don't cc yourself to the bug? I'm not actually interested myself in the answer: I'm only (trying to help) bulk triaging...
What sounds like the same bug is present in SeaMonkey 2.1b2 "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:2.0b11) Gecko/20110209 Firefox/4.0b11 SeaMonkey/2.1b2" on Kubuntu Linux. 1. Click the [Advanced...] button in Mail and Newsgroups window, or choose Tools > Search Messages... from the menu. 2. In the "Search Messages" window that appears, press Ctrl+W. Nothing happens. Likewise, Ctrl+W doesn't work to close Tools > Search Messages... "Advanced Address Book Search". From comment #1, Esc does work in both to close (which seems weird non-standard behavior for a non-modal window). I dunno if it happens on Windows too, but the Platform for this bug is not solely Mac.

In reply to comment #6 This behaviour is also present on comm-central trunk: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:2.2a1pre) Gecko/20110409 Firefox/4.2a1pre SeaMonkey/2.2a1pre ID:20110409123736 In general, "tabs or non-multitab windows" are closed by Ctrl+W, "popups" are closed by Esc. This search widget is apparently regarded as a popup, unlike e.g. the (mailer or browser) "View Source" window (which can be closed by Ctrl+W but not by Esc). The browser's "File Info" widget will close on either Esc or Ctrl+W so what is it? "Both a popup and a window"?
