Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en; rv:1.8.1.8) Gecko/20071010 Camino/1.5.2
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en; rv:1.8.1.8) Gecko/20071010 Camino/1.5.2

Chris Lawson asked me to report this.

When a graphics-heavy page, like my MyYahoo! page is loading, and I want to go to another page, I hit command-L to type in a new address. But right now in Camino I have to wait for the entire page to render before any text shows up in the window. It is as if text rendering in the address window is frozen until the page loads.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Load graphics-heavy page
2.Hit command-L
3.Try to type in new address. Can't.
If Gecko doesn't return control to the event loop, there's nothing we can do; this is the same basic idea as bug 397280, just with a different UI element.

Dupe works for me; this wasn't really how it was described in the feedback e-mail -- it sounded more like a regression of bug 155218, possibly caused by the fix for bug 299548 (which is why I asked him to report it).

Incidentally, I don't really see any delay between hitting Command-L and having focus put in the location bar while loading My Yahoo. An easy workaround for this, though, is to set Camino never to load your home page and when you *do* want to go to it, you can hit Command-Shift-H to get there.
