User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.2; en-US; rv:1.8.1.8) Gecko/20071008 Firefox/2.0.0.8 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.2; en-US; rv:1.8.1.8) Gecko/20071008 Firefox/2.0.0.8 I've been browsing the web like I normally do.I go to www.hi5.com and start opening profiles. After about 20+ open profiles,Firefox starts to behave rather oddly.I don't know if it's because of the security bug that IE suffers from too or whatever (you guys should know :P ),but it's a problem for me. After opening 20+ tabs,I can only switch to another tab with immense lag times.I click on another tab and it takes about 3-5 minutes before it does this.If I close the tab I'm currently browsing,it switches very nicely and fast (as it normally should ) to the next tab. Also, addresses of the type : "http://www.hi5.com/friend/photos/displayUserAlbum.do?albumId=82670224&ownerId=119624346" go mad.Characters and even numbers change at a rapid pace (about 30-60 combinations a second),operation that lasts about two seconds.During this time,I can't do anything with Firefox. Also, the scroll doesn't work except manually.I have to manually hold click on the scroll bar to make it work.It doesn't accept input from the keyboard's directional keys, page up or page down keys or even the mouse's wheel. After going below 20+ tabs, all Firefox functionality is back to normal. But the abnormal changes in the address still occur. The change of the address doesn't jump me to the address that is being changed.I still remain on the page I'm browsing. Hope this helps. Love&Peace! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Go to hi5.com 2.Open 20+ tabs of profiles of people on hi5 3.Try to switch to another open program or try to switch to another tab. Actual Results: Immense lags when trying to another tab (3-5 minutes) or to switch to another app (1-3 minutes).Direct switch to the next tab, should I close the one I was currently browsing.Addresses were changing by themselves.Scroll bar wasn't working except in manual mode (holding left-click on it). Expected Results: Instant tab switch.Instant switch to another app.No addresses changing by themselves.Scrollbar that works in full-mode ( using directional keys from the keyboard, page up and page down and the mouse wheel). Theme in use : Noia 2.0 (eXTreme).
do you see this problem with modern or default theme?
I haven't tested the above described behavior of Firefox with any other theme except the latest update of the Noia 2.0 extreme theme for Firefox 2.Also,I should correct my previous post stating that Firefox went mad after opening 20+ tabs on hi5.com.This sort of behavior appears after opening 30 to 40 tabs.I'm not sure about the exact number of tabs that you have to open for Firefox to behave like that. It's just that it's around 30-40 tabs. Also,my system has 768MB of RAM so Firefox forces my OS to use the paging file at around 30 tabs (over 512MB of RAM that Firefox uses). However, this is not a scenario that would make Firefox act like that. The lags and the phenomena described above cannot be cause by a mild paging file call, because even if the number of tabs decreases or increases,by say,a margin of 10,Firefox acts the same way. What's really spooky is the fact that the change of the address still occurs! As mentioned above, characters and numbers in the address bar (without clicking any link.just by viewing the current page in the current tab)change at a rapid pace, similar to the characters in slot machines. That is spooky. Thanks for answering to this bug.I know it's a little strange and I know it sounds a little strange, but those are the phenomena that plague Firefox(can't remember how to spell "simptoms" :P ) when I browse in the way described above. Thanks again. Love&Peace!
please test in safe mode using default theme http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_Mode_(Firefox)

Found the problem after switching to Firefox 3.It's an abnormal script used by hi5 that (I think) was made for the majority of blissfully ignorant people, namely IE users. The problem doesn't occur as before, but Firefox 3 b5 still has some issues with the script. It sometimes locks Firefox for about 5 to 10 seconds and after that it says that the script of hi5 is slow.I check the "never show me this again" tab and click "Stop script".And when I click the "Next" option on the same kind of address http://hi5.com/friend/display-bla-bla-bla,the same kind of script error appears again, even after I checked the "never show me this again" checkbox.Isn't there a way or an option to stop certain scripts from loading at all?I'm just a power users, don't know many of this stuff. Also, here's another problem.Firefox 3 b5 doesn't warn me when closing multiple tabs (even though the option is checked) except when a download is in progress. When I'm downloading something and the download isn't finished,it first asks me if I want to close Firefox even though I have multiple tabs opened, and then it asks me if I'm sure, because a download is in progress.Other than that time,it doesn't say anything when I have multiple tabs and I want to close it. Thanks for the responses,Mery (it is Mery, right?I apologise (how the hell do you spell this thing?)if it isn't;not very good with names). Love&Peace!
