User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.8) Gecko/20071008 Firefox/2.0.0.8 Build Identifier: 2.0.0.8 windows xp pro Was running the old version perfect on my system (win xp pro), decided to upgrade, installation was easy straighforward, click to open nothing happend, trried several times nothign at all, see task manager /processes, thunderbird is there then it disapears. The I deceided to unistalled and installed again, restart etc, same results. Finally decided to rollback to previous version, now that one doesn lunch either, help please. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.install latest version or previous version of thunderbird 2. click the shortcut to launch 3. cry in pain because it never launches Expected Results: nothing I have norton protection center (latest version) running but that usually prompts me for permissions if any is needed, I have windows automatic updates, I dont use MS Office, Firefox works great, have serveal add-ons installed previous to this update in Thunderbird
Does it help if you uninstall, the reinstall into another empty folder?

solved the problem!!! deleted the Mozilla Thunderbird folder and Installed again, aparently is related to some old add ns incompatible with the new version of Thunderbird old ad ons - Mouse Gestures 1.5.2 - Remove duplicate message 0.1.02 - SoftWhell 0.44.7.20050605 -TalkBack 2.0.0.6 thx for all the sugestions
