I still see this with 2007110404 even with a clean profile.
But it seems to depend on the windows theme. No problem with default Windows XP theme, but when you use for example "Segoe UI 8" (Vista default Font!) or "Lucida Sans Unicode 8" as the font für Menus (Windows appearance settings) you get the problem.

A search proved that this is a regression from bug 396562.

Probably a dup of bug 396565.

Bug 396565 is a seamonkey bug and this problem (or a similar one) is only described in one comment. I suggest to leave this open and add a comment/dependency in the other bug.

Isn't this just a duplicate of bug 397873?
Summary: menu looks strange - hightlight visible below menubar → menu looks strange - highlight visible below menubar

It was not caused by the same patch.

The menus are indeed gone, so if this is the resolution, this bug is fixed now.

Is it possible that other XUL Apps will have the same problem?
I mean, is this just a problem with some Firefox CSS rules or is this a more general problem with the layout engine/menu styling?
Just hiding the menus looks like a sort of workaround, even if it is intended.

The fix for bug 397873 is not Firefox specific.

Then this is a valid bug that should be fixed, right?
Changing product/component to match the regressing bug...

Should be fixed by bug 403634, please reopen if it's not.
