Ok, the steps are a bit different but I can confirm this bug with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2a2pre) Gecko/20090905 Namoroka/3.6a2pre (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) ID:20090905053521 Steps: 1. Open a large web page (http://planet.mozilla.org) 2. Print the page 3. While the print progress bar is shown navigate to another page 4. Cancel/Finish printing
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true
Summary: back-page button stops working after page is printed from Firefox → Back/Forward button stops working when navigating to another page while printing

How do you perform step 3? I'm not able to navigate to a different page while printing. Iou get a "The document cannot change while Printing or in Print Preview." alert.

The print progress dialog is not modal. While the output is calculated you can navigate in the browser window.

Yes, it's not modal, I know, but I can't navigate in the browser window, I then get the "The document cannot change while Printing or in Print Preview." alert.

Strange. I don't see it with the above mentioned build. Can you check with a fresh profile?
Comment 8•15 years ago

It has always been this way, afiact. I'm surprised you don't get this dialog at all.

I also retested this bug with Minefield and a brand-new profile. The steps I gave still apply. There is no dialog with Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.2a2pre) Gecko/20090909 Namoroka/3.6a2pre ID:20090909040930

I tried it on the Mac now too, I'm still getting the dialog. Maybe I don't understand the steps to reproduce or something?
Comment 11•15 years ago

It will not work on OS X because the dialog is modal there. So you simply have to load planet.mozilla.org. After that print the page e.g. with pdfcreator. While the print progress dialog is open (it will take a while until it reaches 100%) click a link on the open page. There is no dialog shown and you land on the target URL. The back button is disabled.

Ah, gotcha! I can reproduce it now, clicking the link on the open page did the trick.

This would fix it.

Still a problem in current GA build today: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.10) Gecko/20100914 Firefox/3.6.10 ( .NET CLR 3.5.30729)

Hi,
I cannot reproduce this in latest Fx versions. Does this still happen on your end with a new profile, using the latest Firefox version or it is not relevant anymore and it can be closed?
Thanks.
