From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-US; m15) BuildID: 2000041805 When I delete a messsage or group of messages from a folder for the very first time after starting Mozilla, everything works well. When I delete another msg/group from the same or another folder, nothing happens. At this point, if I try to move (both by drag&drop and using the left-click menu) the messages are in fact copied to the current location; trying to delete them doesn't work, but dragging them to the Trashcan does. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Delete a msg. 2.Try to delete another. Actual Results: The first message is deleted, the second isn't. Expected Results: Delete the second message. I use 2 POP accounts and local mail folders.
Michele - can you try a more recent build? We had delete problems a while ago, but all should be ok now. Thanks.
I've seen something like this bug happen on both Mac OS builds I've tried -- M15, and nightly build M16-2000051908. Both builds were run on an iMac DV, Mac OS 9.0.4, MRJ 2.2, carbon libs 1.0.4. Trashcan behavior was erratic -- I could drag email into the trash, but then couldn't empty the trash. In my case, though, I couldn't delete any email.
I believe these delete bugs were fixed. Kurt mentioned that he saw them using a 5.19 nightly build. I think they were fixed after that. marking fixed for now. Feel free to re-open if you see the problem on current builds.

Uhh, it's kinda *not* fixed. Using Mac OS build M16-2000052408, I can get the messages moved to the trashcan, but then the "Empty Trash" menu command will not delete the trashed messages. The other item of note is that the delete button in the mail client is broken, so on the Mac at least there is *no* way to delete unwanted email. Same machine and configuration as my previous post. Probably should be marked as a Macintosh bug until verified otherwise.
What do you mean by "the delete button is broken". Is it disabled or clicking on it won't actually delete the message. Kurt, are you using a pop or imap server?
Sorry, I should have been more specific when I said, "The delete button is broken." I'm not sure if the delete button in that build is activated. Clicking on the delete button does not delete the message. It does not move the message into the trashcan, either. Pardon my ignorance on your second question, but I believe my ISP uses a POP server. I've never had a reason to ask. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Not seen in recent builds. Marking verified
