Cell-based selection in trees was implemented for Fx3, but it lacks basic usability  feature - multiple cell selection.
For row selection not only multiple selection exists, but also it the DEFAULT!

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create XUL tree with cell selection <tree seltype="cell"> 
2. Open it with FF3 (FF2 does not support cell selection)
3. Try select more than one cell.
Cell-based selection in trees was initially implemented in bug 296040.
