Hi,
when I start a conversation with a contact using the integrated chat client in "newer version" of gmail, the title of the message box is an ellipsis ("...") instead of the contact's name. It works just fine in Firefox 2.0., and in 3.0b1 under the "older version" of gmail.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Log into gmail
2. Ensure you're using the "new" gmail version
3. Click on a contact name to initiate a chat
Actual Results:
A conversation window opens with an ellipsis as the title

Expected Results:
The resultant conversation window should have the contact's name as its title.
Same bug for me. 100% reproducible.
I can also confirm this bug.

I also confirm this bug consistently displays a "..." instead of contact name
Just to confirm it's there in "Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9b3pre) Gecko/2007122004 Minefield/3.0b3pre" as well.

solution? ...Better Gmail 2 by Grease Monkey....

BG2s functionality that the new mail count is in Tabs name first (instead of !Gmail - inbox (234)") doesnt work, but it solves the names in chat window

keywords for search(so there is no more duplicates of the bug):
gmail, gtalk, chat, name, ...
This is also MacOSX, changed to all.

Confirmed today with Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; pt-BR; rv:1.9b3) Gecko/2008020511 Firefox/3.0b3
The same problem i have seen on my windows xp
Trying to ping someone from google here..
How come this is only "normal" severity? And there's no sign of anyone trying to fix it? It MUST be fixed before the release of version 3!
Darin says a gmail fix was pushed, us to wait while to see.

So let's check in a bit.. So it seems to be Gmail

And I also just heard this can take up to two weeks to be pushed. We gotta stay tunned.

I just downloaded the latest Minefield and tried again... it appears to be fixed! :-) .

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9b5pre) Gecko/2008030405 Minefield/3.0b5pre ID:2008030405

Someone want to confirm this for other builds?
I can confirm that it's fixed in FF3 Beta4 (Windows).
This appears to be fixed for me in:

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9b4) Gecko/2008031317 Firefox/3.0b4
