User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.9) Gecko/20071025 Firefox/2.0.0.9
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.9) Gecko/20071025 Firefox/2.0.0.9

After I download and install Firefox, which I have done several times, the program will not start. I have tried to load it from various points(Start Menu, My Computer, desktop, etc.) without effect. What would cause such behavior? I have virtually the same setup on my laptop and have no trouble at all.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Download latest version
2.Install software
3.Attempt to start program
Actual Results:
Click on desktop icon; cursor changes to hourglass for a few seconds the back to arrow - then nothing.

Expected Results:
Program failed to initialize.

It should have opened Firefox web browser.

Have you tried:

- reconfiguring your firewall for the updated version (a permission for the previous version will not do)
- a reinstall in a new empty folder
- Firefox's safe-mode to exclude extension/theme problems
- a new profile?
George, can you provide a respone to comment #1?
