Clicking just inside the search field will appear to select all the text ("Google"), but the focus will remain where it was. Clicking further into the field acts as designed (clears the search field) and appears to make the problem go away.

To demonstrate the problem, open a new window. The same issue can be reproduced slightly less consistently with the address bar.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a new window
2. Click just into white of the search field
Actual Results:  
The faded search provider ("Google") appears to be selected. Type some text and notice that the input goes to the last focused control.

Expected Results:  
The search provider should be cleared, and the caret should appear in the field.

Reproduce steps for the address bar are as given above, but completely restarting Firefox might be necessary.
