Started up FF, blank bookmarks bar on startup. Tried resetting to defaults, no joy. Please let me know if you require additional information.

Did you installed a trunk nightly build before the beta? Or have you moved directly from 2.x.x.x to 3.0 beta 1?

if it's the first case this should be marked as a dupe of Bug 404453

When make profile in differnt drive from firefox.exe, that is reproduced. at Win2k,  WinXP, Vista.and reproduced latest trunk.

in that enviroment, Only history works. all other folders in places is dead.

Using 3.0b5

Bookmark toolbar  is blank now. Works when I go to it thru Bookmarks menu option. Used to work in the previous builds.

is this with profile directory != default?

I haven't changed any directory location. So it's in default location

C:\Documents and Settings\<login_name>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<alphanumeric_string>.default

This just happened to me with RC1.

Default bookmarks location.

Happened after about the 10th restart after installing RC1.

Seems to be a corruption to my profile as I had a crash just prior, ID: 396d7d73-273e-11dd-bc81-0013211cbf8a

Other profiles still display correctly.

Full description of current behaviour:
- Cannot import backups of bookmars
- All bookmarks show correctly in the Places UI (Organise Bookmarks tree menus), but when selecting a bookmark, the details are blank (inc. Name, URL, etc)
- Bookmark Toolbar is visible, but blank, right clicking on the toolbar shows a context menu with the following items enabled:
Open All in Tabs
Open All in Tabs (This is shown twice, not a typo)
Cut
Copy
Paste
Delete

All other context menu items are disabled

Manually checking the places.sqlite reveals that all the information is there, it's just not visible in the FF3 UI.

As of yet, I still haven't got my bookmark toolbar back.

Any ideas anyone?..

Further evidence of corruption, I customise the menu, click Cancel and all main menu items are greyed out.

Tried with RC and the bookmark toolbar works.  I even dragged and dropped the contents to the main toolbar(real estate savings :-)

Going back to FF3 again!!!
