To easily illustrate the problem, here is a screenshot:

Basically, the Live Bookmark menu spawns an additional "Live Bookmark Loading..." each time I close and open Firefox 3.0 beta 1.

However, if I select to open the actual feed (from the Live Bookmark submenu), that page loads correctly.  Note:  This is an ATOM feed, despite how I've labelled the bookmark in the image.  All of my RSS Live Bookmarks appear to be working properly.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.  Have an Atom Live Bookmark.
2.  Open Firefox 3.0 beta 1.
3.  Watch it maintain a "Live Bookmark Loading..." item in that submenu.
4.  Close Firefox 3.0 beta 1.
5.  Reopen Firefox 3.0 beta 1.
6.  Observe that another "Live Bookmark Loading..." has been added below the previous one.
7.  Optional:  GOTO 4.
Actual Results:  
Instead of loading the ATOM feed as a Live Bookmark, it generates persistent "Live Bookmark Loading..." submenu items.

Expected Results:  
Actually load the ATOM feed as a Live Bookmark.

Confirming, I see this with the feed listed in the URL as well as http://scobleizer.com/feed/ and http://feeds.feedburner.com/TechcrunchUK, which were reported in hendrix. I am using  Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.4; en-US; rv:1.9b2pre) Gecko/2007112004 Minefield/3.0b2pre.

I did not get the error message that was reported in Bug 381357, FWIW. I also remember testing ATOM feeds during our FFT and not seeing any issues.

All three of those feeds are served as text/html, as are all the bug 381357 feeds, which continue to not work despite the error message they used to report either going away, or being swallowed by something. I think we'll be okay with just one "text/html feeds preview fine but never load as livemarks" bug.

It should be in-litmux + since a Litmus test case exists for Atom feeds, no?

It should be in-litmus " " with the bug it's a duplicate of having an appropriate in-litmus status, since it's a bug about Atom-(or-any-other-feed-)as-text/html, not about Atom, no?
