User-Agent: Opera/9.50 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.9) Gecko/20071025 Firefox/2.0.0.9
I created a website (nyuu.ro) and wanted to add some ascii art in the header commented away so it doesn`t interfere with the other code.
I commented it using the usual <!-- and --> then I opened the page in Firefox. To my shock, no style was applied besides the body background. No images were displayed and all the divs had no style applied to it.
I tracked down the problem to some dashes that were in the drawing. About 10-20 of them. After removing them there was no problem.
This thing didn`t happen in Opera 9.5. I don`t have IE to test in that browser too.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a CSS for some divs, paragraphs and links and link it in the head
2. Add a comment in the page`s head that has more than 10-20 dashes " - " in it
3. Add divs, paragraphs and links in body
4. ?????
5. PROFIT
Actual Results:
The CSS wasn`t applied properly
Expected Results:
The CSS should`ve been applied properly. Opera 9.5 had no problems displaying the page with the comment in the head
