Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.8.1.9) Gecko/20071025 Firefox/2.0.0.9

I installed Firefox 3 Beta 1 (Gran Paradiso) to look at its features. When I closed it and reopened Firefox 2.0.0.9, my bookmarks were gone. Luckily, I have just started using Foxmarks, so I quickly restored the backup. This may be a Foxmarks problem, not a FF3 problem.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Firefox 2.
2. Install Firefox 3. Run.
3. Close, then reopen Firefox 2. Look for missing bookmarks in the bookmarks toolbar.
Actual Results:
All bookmarks, including separators and javascript bookmarklets, were gone.

Expected Results:
The downgrade from FF3 to FF2 would smartly take the places and put them back into a FF2 usable format.
The very same happened to me on Linux (PCLinuxOS, RPM) for FF3b1 and FF3b4 (installed with PCLOS repository) and FF3b5 (from Mozille site)! I do have installed Foxmarks, too. Maybe that's the reason?
Note: The word "downgrading" in the header is misleading. It occurs when just opening FF 2.x after FF 3b once has been opened!
we won't support downgrading from fx3 to fx2 and moving items from places to old bookmarks format.

But you can export your bookmarks in html in the Bookmarks Organizer of Fx3 and then import them back in Fx2
