Currently there are 3 Search boxes in Firefox 3b2pre primary ui, every search box has it's own default label, some has no button/icon to indicate that it is a search box, some has ellipsis, some don't...

Search Bar 
- has text: Google
- has button: magnifier
IMHO should be:
- has text: Search in Google...
- has button: same as search bar

Search in Places Organizer
- has text: Search in Bookmarks
- has button: no
IMHO should be:
- has text: Search in bookmarks & history...
- has button: same as search bar

Search in Download Manager
- has text: Search...
- has button: no
IMHO should be:
- has text: Search in downloads...
- has button: same as search bar

Bug 403153 – Self describing text in the bookmarks organizer search box should be "Search Bookmarks"

i'm thinking there should be a meta bug to make them look consistent.

based on Bug 403153 "in" could be optional for all boxes so "Search Google", "Search bookmarks & history", "Search downloads", but notice that in some foreign language (like italian) you have to put the "in" or it will have a different meaning (In italian: "Cerca Google" is like "Search for Google" and not "Search in Google")

If you are going to make behavior consistent, I would like to suggest having keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+K,E) to focus the search box also in Places Organizer and Download manager
