User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.10) Gecko/20071115 Firefox/2.0.0.10 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.10) Gecko/20071115 Firefox/2.0.0.10 It would be really cool if there was a way to open links from the sidebar and have them stay in the sidebar. So for instance, if I load a mobile website in the sidebar and click on a link in the website loaded in the sidebar it will automatically open over the top of an existing tab(this bug is already reported elsewhere). The point is that it would be great if there was some sort of option to open that link in the sidebar. Several possible solutions would include: 1) an option to control this behavior under tools>options 2) a toggle in the sidebar itself so that if someone was using a feature that they wanted to open out into new tabs such as clicking on a normal bookmark that they could quickly change the behavior. 3) a sidebar context menu item that would allow the link to be opened in the sidebar. This last is probably a separate request, but if you are going to allow opening sidebar website links in the sidebar, being able to move backward and forward through pages would be nice too. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

Hello, In Firefox 3 it happens the same. But I remember that in Mozilla Suite it worked well. I've been looking for a aboud:config option in Firefox but there are nothing. There are more people who would like it fixed, I think this important in order to have a usefull open-in-sidebar feature. see http://blogs.tech-recipes.com/shamanstears/2008/04/28/use-mobile-versions-of-web-sites-in-firefoxs-sidebar/ Thanks

This is a mass search for bugs which are in the Firefox General component, are UNCO, have not been changed for 500 days and have an unspecified version. Reporter, can you please update to Firefox 3.6.10 or later, create a fresh profile, http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/managing+profiles, and test again. If you still see the issue, please update this bug. If the issue is gone, please set the status to RESOLVED > WORKSFORME.
