SUMMARY Enhancement: Feature to convert incoming HTML-formatted email into plain text. CURRENTLY Unless I missed it, when someone sends an HTML-formatted email, the recipient of that email has no option other than to view it as formatted in HTML, whether the recipient likes HTML-formatted email or not. SUGGEST FEATURE There should be a feature for people who do not like HTML-formatted emails that can convert it to regular plain text in their incoming emails.

RFE Bug 18427, "Non-presentational HTML mail", would provide a mechanism for implementing this... apply a stylesheet that respects very little HTML formatting and renders that in ascii (empty <P> as "\n\n", for example).

Leaving as future. This won't be in mozilla0.9 unless someone else takes the bug.

Might be a dup of bug 30888, "Want 'View as plaintext' (version/conversion)".
Indeed it is, and there's much more activity and even a potential fix in the other one too! Whoohoo! Marking dup of 30888 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 30888 ***
