It is standard for tabbed applications on OS X to have a Select Next Tab and Select Previous Tab item on the Window menu. This allows you to override the shortcuts for these in Keyboard preferences.
It seems like the lack of these should be considered a bug because they are there on pretty much every other OS X application I've used.

No real objection to doing this; Safari seems to.

I would really like this to be done. I would often manually click these, but I use to use mac features to bind 'select next tab' and 'select previous tab' to cmd-] and cmd-[ in every application I use, if necessary via 'app shortcuts' which can be used to bind shortcuts to menu actions.
So it would be handy if they exist....
