User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071127 Firefox/2.0.0.11 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071127 Firefox/2.0.0.11 It started either with the previous build 10, or perhaps 9 but occasionally when I try to open a web page it does not open it but saves it instead. This happens while both clicking on the actual link within the opened page and when I click on the links in my favorites or the ones on my located on the taskbar for easy access. When I restart Firefox the error corrects itself. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open web page 2.Click on any link 3. Actual Results: The page is saved, the download box pops up instead of opened Expected Results: It should have opened the page in the same window
(In reply to comment #1) > Does this also happen in -safe-mode? > http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_Mode_(Firefox) > In these two days I've tried, no but then even in 'normal' mode, it is an occasional occurrence, so that doesn't necessarily mean anything. If it does pop up, I'll add it here.
This bug was originally reported on Firefox 2.x or older, which is no longer supported and will not be receiving any more updates. I strongly suggest that you update to Firefox 3.6.6 or later, update your plugins (flash, adobe, etc.), and retest in a new profile. If you still see the issue with the updated Firefox, please post here. Otherwise, please close as RESOLVED > WORKSFORME http://www.mozilla.com http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+mode
