A while ago, Minefield started to display a locationbar in every popup, to prevent fraudulent websites. Since bug 398020 (laying the endcaps to rest), it's changed a bit for me. After that one, I noticed that some popups on a particular website had the "go" button enabled, while none of the other websites.
Now that I do have a cutdown example, I see why it's different. In the example, I have 2 functions, one with and one without a go-button. Note that the first function tries to display an image, not a full html-page. The second function builds a html-wrapper around the image though (that's why it doesn't have a favicon), and that's what apparently causes the go-button to appear.
I don't see why a go-button should be created, especially since the locationbar isn't editable. And the code isn't playing with the contents of the locationbar at all.

You're right. It must have been changed before the release of Firefox 3.
