Upon launch of Firefox 3 Beta 1 update manager installs update and shows successful update tab every time program is launched. Everytime Firefox is restarted it also resets notifications for sending encrypted passwords, ect. Problem started with latest update release. I have restarted computer multiple times. Tried running with and without Thunderbird open, no difference was made. Admin privileges are enabled.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Firefox

Expected Results:
Update windows quickly finishes which takes me to "Welcome to Firefox" tab

I have restarted computer multiple times. Tried running with and without Thunderbird open, no difference was made. Admin privileges are enabled on Windows Vista Ultimate. Firefox is the first program I run after restart. Only a few programs are enabled on startup which are for hardware devices such as my video and sound card.

I am having this exact same problem. Usually when I update, the update success screen shows up once. Not again after. Now, every time I open Firefox, I am greeted by two tabs... The second one being my home page, the first being http://en-us.www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/3.0.7/whatsnew/

It is rather annoying, but, not TOO annoying, since I can just open a new bookmark in that window... I just mostly want to confirm this because it has been happening since the newest update... but, not before.

Hi, I had this problem too - only I think I may have a slightly different Version.

I found that if I closed the Firefox Welcome screen it stopped doing this!

As I understand it this bug will be fixed in an official release soon but I don't have the bug and wasn't able to find it with a search.
This is most likely caused by bug 495735 so duping
