It is possible to uncheck Bookmarks Toolbar in the View -> Toolbars menu and you can always empty the folder.
Yes, I know but right now you can't delete it and it's wasting precious bookmarks menu space
It's not in the menu anymore since bug 387746 was fixed.
was that post 3.0 b1? I checked in 3.0 b1 and there is still this distracting folder when I edit or browse bookmarks and I'm still not allowed to remove it
