Appears to happen at random and with random sites. Websites are valid and accessible via IE or by other users. Note I may have misused the term "Redirecting", basically when you put in the URL for the site, you end up at google. not sure the exact mechanics (redirection or wrong cache etc)
That can happen if you didn't type a correct URL. Firefox will use a search-engine (by default Google) to help you locate what you want. See <http://kb.mozillazine.org/Keyword.enabled>
True, but in these cases the URL was correct (had checked and double checked). Also had a situation where clicking on a link from another website to the affected site ended up in Google. The link on the website was correct, and it worked after i restarted Firefox
This bug was originally reported on Firefox 2.x or older, which is no longer supported and will not be receiving any more updates. I strongly suggest that you update to Firefox 3.6.6 or later, update your plugins (flash, adobe, etc.), and retest in a new profile. If you still see the issue with the updated Firefox, please post here. No reply, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 3.6.8 or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
