User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070427 Firefox/2.0.0.3 Build Identifier: Dear friends, there is a « twin » bug report with this subject at http://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12227 MediaZilla b u g 12227 · increase legibility in textareas, input fields etc. regarding « Steps to Reproduce »: It depends from your system. Please understand that at different public places the rights to configure PC's is quite limited and installation of fonts, programs is forbidden. Such places are: libraries, schools, universities, labor places, internetcafés etc. What did I do: I inserted the line from below → [[commons:{{FULLPAGENAME}}]] ← both at http://test.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Category:Language_user_templates&action=edit and in this BugZilla installation. I can not see the UTF-8 arrow characters properly because I never ever changed font settings for the PC I am using in this internetcafé. enhancement request: Provide some functionality to select the font and font size which is required to edit a textarea (and later to display the comment etc. content) directly on the enter_bug.cgi, show_bug.cgi, ... pages. Thanks for all your efforts in advance! Best regards Reinhardt [[user:Gangleri]] P.S. more thoughts: It is questionable if internet users trying to access some information need to have first the knowledge how to configure their systems or if « help » about how be able to see what they want to see is available at the right place. I am neither talking about pages written only in characters from the Latin block nor from pages in German where the special character s ÄÖÜäöüß may not be represented correctly. I am talking about direct or indirect help as available at http://bn.wikipedia.org/ where you can see « How to read and write in Unicode Bangla » available at http://bn.wikipedia.org/wiki/project:Bangla_script_display_help I am convinced that the ability to identify the « right script » for an information, even if is displayed in BugZilla can be improved. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: see above

I understand the need, and that it's difficult to change the IME on a public terminal, but this is still the job of the IME, not of Bugzilla. At the worst, it's the job of the browser.
