User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.10) Gecko/20071203 Ubuntu/7.10 (gutsy) Firefox/2.0.0.10 (Linux Mint)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.10) Gecko/20071203 Ubuntu/7.10 (gutsy) Firefox/2.0.0.10 (Linux Mint)
Firefox seems to go to sleep if the user doesn't continually transition from page to page within seconds. After I'm finished typing this text, it will likely have been too long, and I will have to refresh before I'm able to move forward again. An empty meter sits there while the browser does absolutely nothing.
This problem is present under both Windows and Linux, and happens anywhere on the Web. The problem is confined to Firefox. Internet Explorer does not have this problem, nor does Opera. I am in version 2.0.0.10 under Linux Mint. All previous versions I have used suffer the same bug, under Windows XP and all Linux distros I have used, including Ubuntu, Xubuntu, Mandriva, and Linux Mint.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

This bug was reported on Firefox 2.x or older, which is no longer supported and will not be receiving any more updates. I strongly suggest that you update to Firefox 3.6.3 or later, update your plugins (flash, adobe, etc.), and retest in a new profile. If you still see the issue with the updated Firefox, please post here. Also, give a stacktrace. Otherwise, please close as RESOLVED > WORKSFORME
