"le module NPSWF32.DLL " which means that that the flash player is causing the crash because NPSWF32.dll is the flash player plugin from Adobe.

Hardly run's, but doesn't crash for me
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071127 Firefox/2.0.0.11

Shockwave Flash 9.0 r47

Simon, what's the version of your flash? Type about:plugins into the location bar to get to know.

I first visited the website without flash installed, all ok.
Then copied a previous installation into the plugins folder, looked at about:plugins to get it known to firefox, and opened the URL again.
This time loading the site took very long, as the flash got loaded first.
I'm on a slow ISDN-connectoin, 64kbit/sec, and my win98 computer started 9 years ago having 32MB and 4GB, today has 128MB and 3x4GB on partitioned on 2 drives, besides some linux.

It didn't crash, but i repeatedly can stop the video, rewind and see it from the start. When I first did it, not much was loaded, I heard the first dialog not completely. I looked some other things (not on then web, download not affected) stopped, and pressed play again, and did see the first interview completely, but the quality was very low, just understandable, as it seemed some frames, not a lot, were missing. I'm now about half an hour on this website, pagefile size is stable at the limit, but stopping and restarting play is good for 5 seconds only, then I'm getting about 1 frame/second or slower, so video is jumping, and audio consists of some short noises with long pauses, not recognizable as speech.

As you've got Win98:
How much RAM, and what's the speed of your CPU?
I updated Flash to version 115, and now it is crashing on this site, also using Opera 9.24. Talkback shows it is crashing in the flash plugin.

Jo Hermans, which version of flash did you test with?

Jo, do you use Shockwave Flash 9.0 r115? Older version are ok, miminmum r
required is Flash 8, I succesfully tested Shockwave Flash 9.0 r47

Opera 9.24 is also crashing, so the plugin seems to be the culprit, but a crashing plugin shouldn't crash the browser (I know why currently this can't be avoided).

If you don't want to load the fat original site http://www.elysee.fr/, use testcase https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=293118

Requirements:
The video specifies quality="high" but I'm 64kbit/s ISDN only, not broadband (DSL or cable), butas it runs in a previous version of the plugin, that's reason for a degradation in quality, not reason for crashing.

The plugin requirements specify 128MB memory and 450 MHZ PII

I've got 128-1MB=127MB physically available, that should be enough to fulfill memory requirements for getting a result, sorta, no cras
My Celeron 333MHZ/66MHz CPU/FSB is at least 33% slower than a 450MHz/100MHz CPU/FSB, also having more cache, that's reason the first buffered seconds are heard perfectly, later on you some text is missing, if in a second only speech for half a second could be processes, you hear only half a second, wait half a second, and hear another half a second.
It's different regarding the first seconds, as I'm on a slow connection, a maybe 2 seconds buffer is filled and processed completely, when it is full, so first seconds can be heard completely, next only partly depending on line speed and cpu speed.

I retested using Flash 9.47 ok, 9.116 crash, 9.116 -safe-mode crash.

Thanks for the bug report. The Flash Player team will investigate.

From a mail from the reporter: 450MHz PII, 64MB, DSL
my PC: 128MB Celeron 333MHz, 64kbit/s ISDN

I know the requirements are 128 MB, I've got 1MB less used by the BIOS.

http://www.reuters.com/news/video crashes video, but keeps on playing sound.

It has short clips, down to 30 secs. After the first clip is started, there comes an errormessage: the Plugin has performed an illegal operation, it is recommended to restart the browser. The flash interface is gone, no buttons to repeat or so, no still image, but the sound of the clip goes on loading, and playing.

I'm rarely using flash, only installing it for testing. I never saw problems on youtube, besides having to wait long until my slow connection had loaded completely, so I could rewind and see the complete thing. In the meantime I was reading in other tabs.

feel free to contact me if you've got suggestions what to test. But I highly suspect the requirements will show up to be: You need at least 256MB ;-)

Dear Herman, i will try your gess with reuters...

[Bug 408090] Simon Brouillard The Washington Post. 20-12-07

PROBLEM WITH WHASHINGTON POST

I've got a new problem with the Washington Post.

VIDEO President Bush to Hold News Conference
and the html page is:
http://letters.washingtonpost.com/WBRH016C4C98508B4A46F375E88490

Problem: The Player was displayed first,
and after one or 2 second, it's desappearing from
the screen. No Sound at all.

But Firefox does not to stop.

1° About The Washington Post...

Today, i receive The WasHington Post Newsletter
and on an article there is a link to a page
with 3 videos (Flash). All the 3 videos are
Ok, Sound & Movies.

Look at:

"It's a Tokyo Thing":
http://letters.washingtonpost.com/WBRH0163E21F408B4A46F375101BC0

2° Also I verify the CNN's video:

Article:
EU expands border-free travel zone
Link for video
http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/europe/12/20/europe.borders.ap/index.html#cnnSTCVideo

What's happen:
A slow background picture, No sound, and No movie
displayed but the cursor is moving on time.

And a Error message appear:
Shockwave Flash
The plug-in performed an illegal operation.
you are strongly advised to restart Firefox.

Simon Brouillard
What's happen with this Bug???
Is the bug resolved by Adobe and The Flash Team ?
May can change the Plugin for the Videolan Plugin for Mozilla?
What happened ?
Nothing because this is no Mozilla or Firefox bug, it*s an adobe one, that's the reason why this bug is marked invalid.
You have to report this to adobe.
