I thought we talked about this in another bug -- I don't want to support this in Firefox 3. There's no obvious use case. Alternate input users should be setting attributes through the UI. I only see potential bugs being created here.

I need this in order to complete IA2 mapping into Gecko. But major reason I do it now is to have stable Gecko interfaces as much as we can. We changed Gecko interfaces dramatically and it will be good if we do all changes required by IA2 in Firefox3 timeframe. I do this changes to go with bug 345759.
