The patch for bug 361735 (and the patch in bug 405269 that re-fixed it after it was broken) made us support Shift+Click in the searchbar autocomplete popup to open the search in a new window. We should probably not enter the searched-for text in the originating window's search bar in that case. I suppose filling it into the new window's search bar is probably ideal, but implementing that probably isn't worth the trouble. Maybe we should just never enter the selected value into the search box.
This seems complicated enough to fix that the benefit wouldn't be worth it.
