However, after it has finished flashing part of the red border is regularly left behind. This disappears when another window is selected. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. I'm using GTK+ 2.12.3 and Cairo 1.4.12 with the default GTK+ theme (Raleigh).

I forgot to mention that I am also seeing some leaked objects while using the DOM Inspector. Maybe these are related?
I can verify that the artifact problem also exists on Windows Vista SP1. In addition, if the DOM Inspector highlights an Object which is only partially shown (i.e., you must scroll down to see the whole Object), only the borders which were initially visible are highlighted.
