User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071127 Firefox/2.0.0.11
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071127 Firefox/2.0.0.11

Each and every time I go to double click to open a new tab, two tabs open. I've done new profile test and all files are fine. non seem to be the trigger. as even default profile comes up with event.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open firefox
2. double click to open new tab
3. Two tabs open instead of one
Actual Results:
two tabs open instead of just one

Expected Results:
opened just one at a time

this is a announces at best, but might be a viral bug loading a phased tab.

WFM (I get 1 blank tab per double click on blank tab bar area) with 3beta2rc1 && 2.0.0.11 @ Mac 10.4.11

What are you double-clicking to get a new tab?

to answer your question Steve, I'm double-clicking within the empty space to the right of the default tab.
So you still see this problem if you make a new firefox profile for a test?

If so, is your mouse button dodgy? Have you changed any OS settings with respect to how mouse clicks work or anything? You mention a viral bug... have you scanned your machine for viruses or other malware?
