Do you have a test file for this, that doesn't require sign up? Also, does this happen if the file is fully buffered before you choose "File | Save Page As..."?
It doesn't happen when the file has been fully downloaded. Then the DM just shows it has been downloaded when doing File | Save Page As. Also, when you close the QuickTime player tab, DM shows the progress bar correctly. Here are a couple of test links. I'm not sure how much bandwidth they have but...
